A Liturgy of Hope in the Midst of Darkness

In this season of joy, many hearts quietly carry sorrow. The lights of Christmas can feel dimmed by grief, loss, or longing. The “Service of the Longest Night” offers a sacred pause—a place of stillness and reflection for all who walk through shadows in this holy season.

On the longest night of the year, we gather in gentle prayer and song, to name our losses, to honor our memories, and to open ourselves to the healing presence of God. Together we acknowledge the darkness, even as we await the dawning of light.

If you are mourning the death of a loved one, grieving the loss of a dream, or seeking rest for a weary soul, this service welcomes you. Come as you are, and find in the quiet beauty of worship the promise that even in the darkest night, the light shines, and the darkness does not overcome it.

Childcare is available during this service for infants through 6-year-olds in the Chapelwood Nursery.
